We’re taking the topic of health a step further this week as Hanna and Mark equip us with everything we need to know for a trip to the doctor or pharmacy in a Swedish-speaking area. In doing so, we learn more about the tricky topic of forming plurals of Swedish nouns in the indefinite and definite form. Hanna and Mark simplify the process by using the words for parts of the body, in keeping with the theme of this week’s lesson.

In Chapter 18, James, Yvette and Claire are in shock having just opened the box to reveal diamonds and they are trying to figure out how they fit into what they know so far. James and Claire spend some time exchanging their ideas and theories, but are interrupted by Yvette, who seems to have found the next lead in their investigation. What could it be? In Lesson 22 of Coffee Break Swedish, we explore the words used for different body parts and learn how to describe any aches or pains we may feel in those body parts so that we can cope with a trip to the doctor or pharmacy. As health issues are at the forefront of everyone’s mind at the moment, it’s important to mention that this topic is standard in all of our Coffee Break courses across the languages we produce. We hope that you won’t have to use this vocabulary in a Swedish-speaking area, but sometimes we have to visit the doctor or a pharmacy and explain our aches and pains.
