A little learning goes a long way, and the secret to making huge progress with your language learning is when you do that little bit of learning every day! With the Coffee Break Club, we’ll provide the activities you need to take your French to the next level!

What's involved

The Club provides regular content to help you improve your understanding of French. Read on to find out more about the activities.

  • Listening Activities (Mondays)

    Increase your confidence in understanding spoken French with our listening activities. All listening texts have been recorded by native speakers and you'll hear a variety of accents through the different activities. You'll be listening to voice messages, informal situations and formal situations. There are also factual listening texts so you'll find out more about cultural aspects of French. All listening activities will be accompanied by transcripts so you'll be able to follow the text as you listen.

  • Reading Activities (Wednesdays)

    Build your understanding of written French using real-life, authentic texts written by native speakers. Texts include factual articles, letters, job adverts, reviews, recipes and much more. All activities include comprehension questions, exercises and vocabulary lists so you will be able to practise what you've learned and consolidate your understanding.

  • Video lessons (Fridays)

    Put your language skills to the test with our interactive video lessons, exclusive to The Club. In these 5-minute video lessons you'll improve your vocabulary, translation skills and comprehension of the written and spoken language and you'll put your understanding to the test against the clock. Of course, you can consolidate your learning further by taking your own notes after the lesson, or revisit previous video lessons to see how much you've improved!

Our Reading, Listening and Video activities are provided for two levels:

LEVEL 1

If you’ve recently started learning the language or you’re working through Coffee Break French Season 1 or the early lessons of Season 2, then the Level 1 activities of the Club are for you. They are mostly at the CEFR A1 level. Of course, by working through these activities regularly you’ll build your confidence in the language and be able to move on to Level 2 activities in time.

LEVEL 2

Our Level 2 activities are aimed at intermediate learners, so if you’re working through the later lessons of Season 2 or Season 3 of Coffee Break French, you’ll find these activities at the perfect level for you. The level is also similar to our Travel Diaries series. In terms of CEFR, the Level 2 activities are around the A2/B1 level.

FAQs

What does The Club provide?

The Coffee Break Club provides language activities which will last the length of a coffee break (approximately 15 minutes). Activities are provided for level 1 (A1 / beginners) and level 2 (A2/B1 / lower intermediate) and are published on Mondays (listening), Wednesdays (reading) and Fridays (video).

Is membership to The Club restricted?

Anyone can join The Club and access the resources throughout the duration of their membership. There are no restrictions on numbers of members to The Club.

How do I access The Club materials?

All of the self-access learning materials associated with The Club are available within The Coffee Break Academy. The materials will be in PDF format, audio files will be MP3 files and video files will be streaming only.

What are the payment options?

We are based in the UK, so our UK customers like to pay in £GBP. We also have customers all over the world and many people like to pay in $USD. We also offer this option. Since membership involves a recurring payment, payment can be made by credit or debit card, Apple and Google Pay.

Do the prices include tax?

We are required to charge tax at the local rate wherever taxes are applicable. The prices shown on the checkout page will reflect any local taxes. The £GBP prices we quote on this page include UK VAT. The $USD prices do not include any local taxes which may be applicable in certain US states.

Do I get support if needed?

Absolutely! The Coffee Break team will be happy to provide technical support to help you make the most out of the Coffee Break course.
