Welcome to the latest episode of Coffee Break Italian! In this episode we will be focusing on the passato remoto (past historic), on it’s formation and it’s use. We will then listen to a story from Carlotta’s grandfather about his family migrating from Italy to New York. Listen out for some key vocabulary such as dopoguerra, traversata and the classic storytelling phrase of c’era una volta + vissero tutti felici e contenti.

I’ve been using various language learning applications over the past 3-years and have started with CBI the past 3-months.
I feel like I am in the room with the CBI team, which helps me understand it much faster than the other tools that I’ve used prior.
I love the CBI team, they are very knowledgeable and sweet people. I love taking these lessons at my own pace and will start with their full course online here soon.
Keep up the good work, as my 10-yr old daughter is now interested in CBJ, because she hopes to travel to Japan in the next 3 years for her black belt in Karate.
Love you guys!
Salvatore C.
Hi Salvatore,
Thank you for your kind words. We’re happy to hear that Coffee Break Italian has helped you feel immersed in the learning experience and that your daughter is interested in Coffee Break Japanese — what a nice goal she has!
Happy learning,
