The Coffee Break Swedish Travel Diaries will help you increase your vocabulary, learn new structures and see Swedish being used in an authentic way. The premise is simple: set aside 15 minutes, pour yourself a cup of coffee (or tea, or your drink of choice!) and enjoy a structured lesson with expert teachers. How do the Coffee Break Swedish Travel Diaries work?
In the Coffee Break Swedish Travel Diaries, you'll be following the story of a family as they travel down the west coast of Sweden on holiday together. Mum and Dad, Sara and Mattias, are joined by their daughter Alva and son Arvid.
In the main lessons you'll listen to the diary entry of Mattias, and then our Swedish teacher Hanna and Swedish learner Mark will talk through the full text, focusing on interesting vocabulary, learning new expressions and analysing the grammar.
There's a video version of each main lesson, and we also provide lesson notes to help you get more out of your experience. There's also our bonus lesson, when we hear an alternative point of view in Alva's version of events. Again, this is accompanied by lesson notes to help you understand everything.
Frequently asked questions
When does the course start and finish?
We start publishing the lessons of the Coffee Break Swedish Travel Diaries on 27 April 2023 and lessons will be added every second Thursday thereafter. As each lesson is published, you'll be able to access the lesson in the learning system. The Coffee Break Swedish Travel Diaries are made up of 10 main lessons and in between each lesson there is a bonus episode to help you consolidate what you've learned. Of course, you'll have lifetime access to the course whenever your start and you can work through the materials at your own pace as they become available.
Can I download the material for offline use?
We use streaming video for the video episodes in this course, but you can download the lesson notes and store them on your device for handy reference. You can also download the audio files so that you can listen on the go to review what you've learned in the videos.
