In Season 2 of Scenes from the Coffee Break Café, you’ll be transported once more into the world of this bustling café. Through the unfolding stories, you’ll encounter new perspectives, cultural insights, and carefully chosen language points to help you take your learning further.
It’s the café you know and love – but with new stories brewing, new details to savour, and more opportunities to immerse yourself in language and culture, one scene at a time.
Introducing Scenes
How does Scenes work?
The Scenes courses not only strengthen your language skills but also deepen your connection to the culture of the places where these stories unfold.
Designed for intermediate learners (B1-B2) or those working on or progressing beyond Coffee Break Level 3, each course offers a variety of engaging elements to help you understand the language in context and take your learning to the next level.
Coffee Break Academy
You'll learn in our online platform, the Coffee Break Academy, which you can access on any web browser. Through your account on the Academy, you'll be able to work through the courses and track your progress as you complete each lesson.
Audio lessons
Take your learning on the go! Whether you're working out, driving, or walking the dog, you can immerse yourself in the language effortlessly. Each lesson features a chapter reading, followed by an insightful discussion between our presenters, helping you deepen your understanding as you listen.
Spotlight videos
Join our Coffee Break tutors as they pick up one of the key language points in each chapter and provide a spotlight video with further explanations and examples. There’s even an exercise to help you practise this language point. It's the perfect way to reinforce your learning.
Lesson notes
Each lesson includes comprehensive lesson notes, featuring a full transcript of the language used, along with clear explanations and additional examples of key grammar and vocabulary from the discussion. Available in PDF format, these notes can be accessed on any device or printed for easy reference – perfect for learning anytime, anywhere!

When does the course start and finish?
Scenes from the Coffee Break Café Season 2 is being broadcast over 10 weeks from week beginning 19th January 2026. However, on purchase, you can access all 10 lessons of Season 2. The full Scenes course is made up of 10 lessons. Of course, you'll have lifetime access to the course and you can work through the materials at your own pace as they become available.
What level is Scenes?
The lessons are at a B1/B2 intermediate level. If you have been working on Coffee Break Level 3 courses or above then you should find the course to be at an appropriate level.
Which currency can I buy in?
Scenes from the Coffee Break Café courses are available to buy in £GBP and $USD. You can use any credit or debit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. If purchased in $USD then PayPal is also available as an option.
Can I download the material for offline use?
We use streaming video for the video episodes in this course, but you can download the PDF documents and audio materials and store them on your device for handy reference to allow you to listen on the go.
Can I use the courses on the app?
The Scenes courses can be used on the Coffee Break Academy app where you can access all the lesson content and download audio and video to access offline.
Is there a free podcast?
The audio lessons from Scenes Season 2 are being published from week beginning 19 January 2026 in our podcast feeds and YouTube channels.
