Lesson 36 – Show Time Spanish

¡Estamos de vuelta! It’s been a few weeks since our last episode of Show Time Spanish, and this has been the result of major server problems. We’ve completed a migration of all our content to new servers today, and we’re delighted to be back with a new episode of Show Time Spanish in which Mark is joined by Loreto, from Chile. In this first of two episodes with Loreto, we learn about the geography and culture of Chile.

  1. Mark, i have a query regarding your example in the Encore for lesson 36, question 3. Here, you provide the answer as “le avergüenza admitir…
Can you explain why it is not “se avergüenza admitir…. as this seems to be a “normal” reflexive verb?
By the way fantastic content as ever – keep up the good work!

  2. Great! I’m loving these Latin America focused episodes. Thanks for bringing the direct download button back for use non-itunes listeners.

I met with my El Salvadoran intercambio partner last night and we were discussing the appropriate use of tu vs. usted for my trip to Costa Rica next week and she mentioned that she uses “vos” with her sister. I was floored because in 2 years of studying Spanish this is the first time I’ve come across it. She said it’s common in many Latin American countries. It might be worth mentioning in an upcoming episode.

    Cheers!
